Saturday was Reese’s toughest day so far. Nausea, vomiting, pain, high fevers, high respiratory, low blood pressure, high heart rates… all these came together to create the perfect storm of misery. The doctor told me that the echo she received pre-transplant was to make sure her heart is strong enough for this, and it is. She was blessed with the gift of sleep from 11pm-4:15am. The doctors and nurses are working together to provide Reese with as much relief as possible, as the meds need to continue, and side effects come with the protocol.
My sweet girl put it best: “Mommy, my tummy hurts because it is fighting the JMML.” That’s right, and that’s why we are here!
