Christmas was in the air and the whole weekend was full of Christmastime fun. On Saturday, Reese and her sisters dashed out of bed and ran through the house searching for their sneaky little elves. Then they opened their Little People Advent calendars before breakfast. Later in the day, we visited the Lincolnshire Marriott Children’s Theater to see the production of Sleeping Beauty. This was followed by lunch with Nonnie and one of my girls’ best friends, Maddie. Sunday was equally exciting and started off with Breakfast with Santa at the Botanic Gardens. Reese ate pancakes and told Santa her wishes (baby unicorn dolls) and then we visited the train exhibit. The day ended with a family dance party to Jingle Bells around our Christmas tree. Our family was filled with joy and our hearts were thankful. Beginning the Christmas season with my three little girls is always a dream come true.
On Monday morning, Reese woke up with a fever, complaining that her knees hurt and she couldn’t walk. This prompted an emergency room visit in Evanston. By the end of the day, we were checked in at Lurie Children’s hospital awaiting tests and feeling confused.
