Eczema and Sensitive Skin

My 3-year-old Claire suffers from eczema, and she has since birth. We have also been very careful with Reese’s sensitive skin care since transplant (and Quinn is just along for the ride, benefiting from exceptional skin care.)

I have been on a quest for the perfect skin care routine for someone with either:

  1. eczema
  2. sensitive skin

But I want it to be CLEAN and non-toxic, of course. Last year the eczema cream I used literally hurt Claire. I think I have my solution, and I will share it here. As a consultant, eczema or sensitive skin is one of the most common questions I get, so I know that I am not alone on this quest.

My magic potion for calming eczema!!

*None of my children have severe eczema, the kind that needs to be treated with oral antibiotics or other immunosuppressants, prescribed by a specialist.

“Baby” Line

Beautycounter has a “BABY” line that is NOT just for babies. The balm and oil are highly recommended for flaring or sensitive skin. They came recommended by many women, who have seen and solved flares on themselves and their children. (This is an example of when it is beneficial to be in the industry. I get to learn all of the secrets, and pass them on. My greatest joy.) I purchased all of these and have systematically used them, and I can see why they are so beloved.

Charcoal

The other best-kept secret for skin flares in CHARCOAL. Each particle of activated charcoal is packed with absorbative qualities that make it capable of carrying 1000 times its own weight (wild, right?) This enables charcoal to draw out toxins and impurities that trigger eczema breakouts. What are the products I am recommending? One is a charcoal face mask and the other is a charcoal cleansing bar (for face or body.)
